Tad Kozun opened the scoring for the visitors when he teamed up with Patrick Gaul and buried a back-door feed past Hayden Stewart just 2:02 into the game.

The Solar Bears equalized when Shaw forced a turnover beneath the Stingrays goal line, and Bourke found Pedersen at the left side of the net for Pedersen's fifth of the season.

South Carolina pulled ahead late in the frame with a power-play goal when Grant Besse one-timed a shot from the right circle at 14:59.

The Stingrays took a two-goal lead in the second period when Cameron Askew snuck a shot through the pads of Stewart at 8:06.

Bourke brought Orlando back to within a goal at 8:24, when he knocked in a loose puck past Parker Milner for his fourth of the season. Both Shaw and Pedersen collected assists on Bourke's goal, giving each player on the line a two-point evening.

The Solar Bears attempted to rally in the third period, and pulled Stewart for an extra skater late in regulation. Despite a faceoff win in the offensive zone with 6.5 seconds remaining on the clock, Orlando was unable to find the game-tying score as the clock wound down.

Stewart took the loss with 31 saves on 34 shots against; Milner earned the victory with 28 stops on 30 shots against.

Bourke, Pedersen and Mike Monfredo tied for the team lead with four shots on goal.
