Montreal, Canada. The ABA Montreal Matrix concluded a four-game homestand on a winning note by defeating the Strong Island Sound 96-89. It was a tight game with both teams repeatedly exchanging the lead until Montreal took firm control in the fourth quarter.
Matrix high-scorer Sani Ibrahim finished with 19 points and was a monster on the boards with 20 rebounds. Manix Auriantal, Quininous Randall, Shawn Browne, J.J. Brade, Bobby Miller and Denburk Reid all contributed with double digit scoring.
With the win, the Matrix now improve to an overall record of 6-9 - 4-3 at home - and take sole possession of third place in the Roger Brown Division. We respect all but fear none," said Shawn Browne. "We play good teams but we're not afraid of anybody. Now we just have to do the same thing tomorrow night."
The Matrix, looking for a third consective win, travel to Baltimore to face the Pearles. The Matrix next home game is scheduled for Friday, Jan 13 at 7pm against the Harlem Strong Dogs.
