
Matias Shines as Stars of Tomorrow Put on Hitting Clinic in 2018 Futures Game

NATIONALS PARK (Washington, D.C.) - Seuly Matias showed off his power during the prestigious 2018 Futures Game. Matias finished his time in the game going 2-3 with a home run and single, representing the Kansas City Royals organization in the Futures Game which kicks off MLB All-Star festivities.
With a 1-1 count in the top of the second, Matias mashed a solo homer to deep right field to tie the game at one run apiece. He struck out in his next at bat, but had a single up the middle in his final plate appearance. Matias continues to lead all levels of Minor League Baseball with 26 home runs.
Team USA and World combined for eight homers throughout the game, showing the offensive talent currently in MiLB. Team USA was able to hold off their competitors and take the game, 10-6.
