North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 1-0 against the Rome Braves on Sunday night.
Aaron Phillips came ready to play in his third start against the Rome Braves this season. Phillips was dominate throughout the ballgame, going a season high seven innings. Phillips also tied his season high with nine strikeouts against the Braves. In the end, he gave up only four hits and one run to the Braves.
The first and only run in the ballgame would be scored in the top of the first inning, when Drew Waters scored from third base on a sacrifice fly. The GreenJackets had a couple of opportunities throughout the game to tie, but mostly the bats were quiet. Augusta would only have three hits in the game.
The four game series is now tied a 1-1. Game three will be tomorrow at 7:05 pm.
