ABOUT LAST GAME: Lakewood took the series opener, 5-2, over Columbia on Saturday at FirstEnergy Park. Marcel Renteria made his first start for the Fireflies since May 21 and threw two scoreless frames (44 pitches). Yeizo Campos hurled six frames out of the bullpen (4 ER, 0 BB, 5 K).

DOUBLE MACHINE: Columbia has 25 doubles in July, which is tied for the third-most in the South Atlantic League. Scott Manea has smacked eight of these two-baggers in 11 games this month. The 22-year-old leads the current roster with 16 total two-baggers this season. Manea is second in all of MiLB in doubles so far this month.

- Ramon Urias (AA - Springfield): 10

- Scott Manea (Low A - Columbia): 8

*Eight players are tied for third with 7*

BT CRUISER: Blake Tiberi's road trip is off to a sizzling start. The former Louisville Cardinals infielder clocked his fourth home run of the season on Friday. Tiberi finished the three-game series in Hagerstown with seven hits. The 23-year-old has hit safely in four straight games. Columbia begins a four-game series with Lakewood on Saturday and Tiberi holds a .400 batting average against the BlueClaws in seven contests.

OPENING EYES: RHP Darwin Ramos might be in the midst of his best two-week stretch as a Firefly. The 22-year-old posted three shutout frames on Friday, bringing his scoreless streak to 12 innings over his last five outings. Ramos held a 5.65 ERA on June 25 and now it sits at a season-best 4.42.

SOAK IT IN: The Fireflies are at FirstEnergy Park for just the second time in franchise history. Columbia's first visit to Lakewood, NJ was from May 13-16 in 2017. The Fireflies took three out of four games in that series. Dash Winningham and Michael Paez launched back-to-back homers in the first contest - only time that's been done in team history.

THE FUTURE: Andres Gimenez was selected to join the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game at Nationals Park on July 15. The former Firefly will play for the World Team in a game that features the top minor league prospects. Gimenez is currently listed as the Mets no. 1 prospect, according to MLB.com. Here's what the 19-year-old did with Columbia in 2017:

- .265 average, 9 doubles, 4 home runs, 14 stolen bases (92 games)
