Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE - Nashville Soccer Cub will travel to the Pacific Northwest this Sunday to take on Western Conference foe Portland Timbers in the club's first Major League Soccer road match. The contest is set to be nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN Deportes starting at 6 p.m. CT.
Nashville SC enters the match after opening its MLS campaign with a home debut that saw 59,069 fans pack Nissan Stadium, setting the record for the largest crowd for a soccer match ever in the State of Tennessee. The attendance of 59,069 was the league's third highest for any MLS expansion home opener and the fourth largest crowd overall for an expansion team in its first season in MLS.
On Sunday night, Nashville SC and the Portland Timbers will join forces to raise funds in support of the tornado relief efforts by wearing a commemorative 'Never Give Up On You' patch on their jerseys. The Nashville SC jerseys will be signed by the Boys in Gold and auctioned with the proceeds going to the Middle Tennessee Tornado Relief Fund. The auction will open the week of March 9th.
