San Jose Earthquakes News Release

Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The match marks the third and final game between the Earthquakes and Rapids this season.

Broadcast Information

The game will be aired live on CSN California, 1590 KLIV (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).

Playoff Hopes

Thanks to a vital 2-1 win over Real Salt Lake and both Sporting Kansas City and Portland Timbers losing last week, the Earthquakes are still mathematically in playoff contention. To keep their hopes alive, the Quakes must go undefeated in their final three matches including a win at Sporting KC in their season finale. A win or a draw in Colorado Thursday would mean San Jose lives to fight another day, but a loss would officially eliminate the club from contention.

Unbeaten Streak

With a win or draw on Thursday, the Earthquakes would go undefeated against the Rapids for the sixth straight season, with their last loss to the club coming on Aug. 13, 2011. It would also mark the first time since 2014 that San Jose has gone unbeaten against Colorado in a three-game season series (0-0-3).

Dave's Saves

Earthquakes goalkeeper David Bingham has never suffered a loss to the Rapids, amassing a 3-0-2 record in five career appearances against the club. He has only allowed two goals over that period, which is the second lowest amount for any goalkeeper against Colorado. His three career shutouts against the Rapids are also tied for second among all active goalkeepers.

Home Away from Home

The Earthquakes are nearly unbeaten (4-1-6) when playing at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, with their only loss coming on August 7, 2010. The last four matches in Commerce City have resulted in draws, with the Quakes holding the home team to just two goals over that span. The Earthquakes and Rapids played to a scoreless tie in their first match of the season at DSG Park on Sept. 17.
