Sacramento Republic FC vs Real Monarchs SLC July 6, 2016; 8:00 p.m. PDT Kickoff

Sacramento Republic FC (8-3-4, 28 pts) complete a short two-match home stand when they take on Real Monarchs SLC (5-9-4, 19 pts) on Wednesday, July 6. Kickoff is 8 p.m. at Bonney Field. The match, presented by Chipotle, will be broadcast live on Sports 1140 KHTK. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.

This will be the third and final meeting between Republic FC and Real Monarchs SLC this season. Republic FC have won the previous two meetings, earning a 1-0 home win on June 8 before earning a 2-1 win when the two clubs met in Reno, Nev. on June 11. Republic FC has a slight advantage over the Monarchs in the all-time series, holding a 2-1-3 record in six all-time meetings.

Republic FC enter the match on an nine-match unbeaten streak, going 6-0-3, one match shy of the club's all-time record 10-match unbeaten streak which the club has achieved twice. Republic FC went 8-0-2 from July 14 - Sept. 6, 2014 and then went 5-0-5 between Aug. 14, 2015 and April 17, 2016.

Republic FC earned their sixth consecutive win against Seattle Sounders FC 2 with a 2-1 victory on Saturday, July 2. Forward Harry Williams scored in just the 5th minute and defender Mike da Fonte scored the match-winning goal in the 78th minute to give Republic FC the win.

Williams' goal against S2 was his second this season. Republic FC has now scored in the first five minutes in each of their last two matches with Cameron Iwasa scoring in just 38 seconds against the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros on June 18.

da Fonte became the second Republic FC defender to score this season with his first of the season against S2. da Fonte joins fellow defender Emrah Klimenta who has two goals this season. Republic FC defenders have now scored three goals and recorded five assists this season, accounting for 44 percent of the club's goals this season.

Midfielder Danny Barrera recorded the assist on da Fonte's goal. With the assist Barrera set a Republic FC record, recording assists in three consecutive USL matches. His three assists on the season ties defender James Kiffe for the club lead. Barrera has recorded a goal and three assists in his last six matches.

The Monarchs enter the match 1-0-5 in their last six matches. All six matches have been decided by just one goal. The Monarchs will play Republic FC for the third time in less than a month. This is not the only team they have played multiple times in a short span, in their last eight matches, the Monarchs have faced just four different teams, taking on Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 three times, Republic FC and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC twice and Orange County Blues FC once.

Forward Ricardo Velazco leads the Monarchs offense. Velazco's six goals and three assists on the season are both club highs. He also leads the club in shots and shots on goal. Velazco scored the Monarchs lone goal against Republic FC in their matchup on June 11.
