New England Revolution News Release

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The New England Revolution visit defending MLS Cup champion Los Angeles FC at BMO Stadium on Sunday night. The match kicks off at 10:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app. Max Bretos and Brian Dunseth will have the call in English, with Rodolfo Landeros and Martin Zuniga providing Spanish commentary. Sunday's match can also be heard on the radio on 98.5 The Sports Hub, with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies calling the action, and on 1260 AM Nossa Radio USA in Portuguese.

New England, one of four MLS teams to open the 2023 season with consecutive victories, visits Los Angeles FC in a clash between the league's last two Supporters' Shield winners. The Revolution collected a 3-0 win over Houston Dynamo FC last weekend in the club's home opener at Gillette Stadium. Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena collected his 50th MLS regular season win with New England, making him the third coach in club history to reach the half-century mark.

New England is riding high behind a balanced attack through two games, as the latest victory over Houston featured six players on the scoresheet with goal-and-assist performances from three different players: midfielder Dylan Borrero, defender Brandon Bye, and forward Bobby Wood. For their performances in last Saturday's match, Bye and Borrero earned appearances on MLS Team of the Matchday. The Revolution's four goal scorers are tied for the most of any team after two matchdays, while the team's six assists also pace the league.

Midfielder Latif Blessing, acquired via trade from LAFC this offseason, suited up for his Revolution debut and logged his 25th MLS assist in the win against Houston. Blessing, who spent five seasons with the Black and Gold from 2018-2022, is set to play against his former club for the first time after departing as Los Angeles FC's all-time leader in games played (145) and minutes played (9,749). Also in the midfield, Carles Gil distributed his first assist of the 2023 season last week and enters Sunday's match one assist shy of his 50th regular season assist in MLS. With his next assist, the 2021 MLS MVP will become the third player in Revolution history to collect 50 helpers for the club.

On the defensive end, goalkeeper Djordje Petrović notched his ninth MLS clean sheet with a five-save performance. New England has yet to concede through 180 minutes to open the season, thanks in part to the pairing of Henry Kessler and Dave Romney in central defense. Romney, a California native, logged his second 90-minute appearance for New England in his home debut.

New England is unbeaten in its last 12 games played in the Pacific Time zone dating back to June 18, 2019. The Revolution own 22 road wins since Arena took over as Sporting Director & Head Coach on June 2, 2019 - the most in MLS over that span. Sunday's contest marks the third meeting between New England and Los Angeles FC, and the first since the two sides met in 2019. The Revolution carry an 0-1-1 all-time record against the Black and Gold.
