North Carolina FC News Release

CARY, NC (October 3, 2014) - The Carolina RailHawks (Fall Season: 6W-1T-6L, 19pts) will take to the road as they travel to South Florida to take on the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (Fall Season: 4W-3T-5L, 15pts) at the historical Lockhart Stadium. Saturdays match is set for 7:30pm. The game will be available live at NASLlive.com.

The trip will be the RailHawks first time traveling to South Florida in 2014 and their second match against the Fort Lauderdale Strikers.

The RailHawks are coming off of a very important 1-0 road victory against Indy Eleven with a goal by Raleigh native, Nazmi Albadawi.

Saturday's win over Indy Eleven keeps the RailHawks in 4th place in the combined standings (10W-3T-9L, 33 pts.), which would earn the team a spot in The Championship Semi-Finals.

The Strikers last NASL game was two weeks ago when they defeated Indy Eleven 2-1 at home. The Strikers vs. Rowdies match that was scheduled for last weekend was postponed due to weather and field conditions.

RailHawks Notes:

Devon Sandoval Available for Saturday's Game

Devon Sandoval joined the RailHawks on loan in early September. He started in the RailHawks 9/13 and 9/20 matches, scoring two goals in the 5-4 victory over the New York Cosmos on 9/20 prior to being recalled by Real Salt Lake for last Saturday's MLS match against the Vancouver Whitecaps. After that match, Sandoval re-joined the RailHawks for training this week and he will be available to play in Saturday's match against the Strikers.

Up Next

The RailHawks will travel to Canada on Sunday, October 12th to take on NASL foe, FC Edmonton. The game is scheduled to kick-off at 4:00pm. Next Sunday's match up will be the last 2014 NASL Regular Season game between the Eddies and the RailHawks.

Coach's Quote

"Saturday's match is going to be another important game for us. We haven't been able to get a good result in Fort Lauderdale since I've been here. It will be nice to go down there and get the three points against a team competing with us for the third and fourth spot in The Championship. They have a good team with many familiar faces. We are looking forward to a great game." - Colin Clarke
