Atlanta United FC News Release
ATLANTA -Atlanta United returns to action Saturday when it travels to face Toronto FC at BMO Field. The match is set to kick-off at 7:30 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass, while fans can also tune-in to radio calls on 92.9 The Game, SiriusXM FC and La Mejor.
MLS Season Pass features every match of the regular season and Audi MLS Cup Playoffs with consistent match times and no blackouts. Atlanta holds a 4-4-5 all-time record against Toronto in MLS regular season play: 3-0-4 at home and 1-4-1 on the road. The teams split the series in 2022, with each side winning at home, while the most recent meeting in Matchday 2 ended in a 1-1 draw at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Atlanta has scored at least one goal in each of its first seven matches, extending the longest scoring steak in consecutive matches to start a season in club history.
Homegrown defender Caleb WIley received his first call-up to the United States Men's National Team this week. The 18-year-old was one of 23 players named to the USMNT roster that will face Mexico on April 19 in the inaugural Allstate Continental Clásico. WIley has already recorded a career-best three goals and two assists in 2023.
Thiago Almada continued his bright start to the season with five chances created against New York City FC. Almada leads the league in assists (five) and chances created (23) despite playing one fewer match due to international duty.
Giorgos Giakoumakis has scored in three consecutive matches and became the first player in club history to score in his first three starts.
Toronto heads into Saturday in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with a 1-1-5 record, coming off a 0-0 draw at Nashville SC in Matchday 7. After losing its first match of the season, Toronto is riding a six-game unbeaten run that began with a 1-1 draw against Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on March 4.
