
MasterCard Memorial Cup Hosts Tee Up

Kitchener Rangers News Release
In conjunction with the 2008 MasterCard Memorial Cup, the host team Kitchener Rangers has announced plans for an Alumni Reunion and Golf Tournament. The event will take place Friday, May 23rd.
Golf will be played at Kitchener's Rockway Golf Course beginning at 9 am. A reception and dinner will follow at 4 pm., hosted by Chicopee Tube Park - owned and operated by Ranger Alumni Walt Tkaczuk and Dan Seguin. A silent auction will also be held with proceeds to benefit the Sponsored Kids Program of the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association.
Rangers alumni are invited to participate in the golf tournament -space is limited - any who have not yet received an invitation to participate are encouraged to contact the Kitchener Rangers office (519.576.3700).
Confirmed alumni who will "tee it up" are John Beechey (1963-66) who scored the first goal in Kitchener Rangers history; Walter Tkaczuk (1963-68) Rangers Captain who also played for new York Rangers; Dan Seguin (1964-68) popular Rangers of the 1960's; Dwight Foster (1973-77) leading career scorer in Rangers history; Jeff Noble (1985-88) a 100-point scorer in 1987-88; Steve Eminger (1999-2003) (subject to availability) defenceman who now plays for the Washington Capitals.
A limited number of openings for fans to play in this special tournament MAY become available in April. Ranger alumni unable or not wishing to play in the Tournament are invited to attend the reception and dinner.
Built in 1953, Rockway Golf Course boasts a history that includes legendary Moe Norman and Gary Cowan. Rockway is an 18-hole, par 70 course located in the heart of Kitchener and offers a challenge to golfers of all levels.
Chicopee Tube Park celebrated its second winter season this year. The staff is getting ready for an exciting Spring, Summer and Fall season that will include Summer Tubing and Ziplining - the first activity of this type in Southern Ontario.
