Spirit Back on the Ice

(Saginaw, MI) The Saginaw Spirit will be hosting the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for two playoff games this week - Wednesday, March 26th and Thursday, March 27th. Both games will take place at 7:11 PM at TheDow Event Center in Saginaw. Saturday night's home game was postponed due to unsafe ice conditions to Thursday, but the team found better conditions when they hit the ice Monday morning for practice.

"The ice is getting better and should be in good shape when Wednesday comes around," stated Spirit captain Ryan McDonough, "TheDow has done a good job getting the ice in shape for the next game".

Fans can turn in their ticket stub from Saturday's contest for admittance into Thursday's home game, or get a full refund in-person at TheDow Event Center Box Office or the Saginaw Spirit Merchandise Store. The Spirit apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay and appreciate the support of its fans.

"We came out of the locker room after a two hour delay Saturday night and still found the building packed. The guys (Spirit players) really appreciated the show of support and we look forward to seeing everyone back at TheDow Wednesday and Thursday night," stated McDonough.

The Spirit and TheDow Event Center are pleased to announce beer and concession specials for Wednesday and Thursday night's game. TheDow will be selling 22 oz draft beers for $2.50 each - regularly priced at $5.00 each! Popcorn, medium soft drinks and king size candy bars will be sold for $1.00 each, plus fans can receive a special $1.00 off coupon for a frozen drink at TheDow Event Center's Frosty Coconut Bar!

Tickets are on-sale now at the Saginaw Spirit Merchandise Store, 5789 State Street in Saginaw, or at TheDow Event Box Office. Tickets can also be purchased over the phone at 989-497-7747, via the internet at Saginawspirit.com or at any TicketMaster outlet.

The postponed game has caused the Ontario Hockey League, the Saginaw Spirit and the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds to release a revised schedule:

Game 2: Monday, March 24th in Sault Ste. Marie; 7:00 PM Game 3: Wednesday, March 26th in Saginaw; 7:11 PM Game 4: Thursday, March 27th in Saginaw; 7:11 PM Game 5: Saturday, March 29th in Sault Ste.
