Green Bay, WI- Alex Martinez will pitch for the Green Bay Bullfrogs tonight, as they begin a two-game road series with the La Crosse Loggers.

Green Bay's offense powered the Bullfrogs to a 10-7 victory last night against the Lakeshore Chinooks at Joannes Stadium.

The Bullfrogs recorded 13 hits, including three from Paul Jacobson, his third three-hit game of the year.

Lakeshore got on the board first with a two-run homer for Doug Kraeger, but Green Bay scored three in the bottom of the first. Brian Celsi hit an RBI single, and Jacobson had a run-scoring base hit, and Matthew De La Rosa scored on a throwing error.

Lucas Raley tied the game to lead off the third with his Northwoods League-leading 12th home run.

Luke Lind relieved starter Parker Hamilton in the third and threw four innings of long relief, earning his second win of the season. He threw four shutout innings and allowed a hit and a walk with five strikeouts.

Green Bay grabbed the lead right back with three runs in the bottom of the third. Jacobson and Mason George each had RBI infield singles. Jack Strunc stole second, and Jacobson broke for the plate from third and scored on Eric Fasnacht's throwing error to give the Bullfrogs a 6-3 lead.

Logan Taylor doubled, stole third and scored on a wild pitch in the fifth.

The Bullfrogs scored three more in the seventh with a two-RBI single for Strunc and a run-scoring groundout for Ty Blankmeyer to give Green Bay its seventh double-digit output of the season.

Jake Stolley pitched two scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts. Chad Dullnig got the first two batters out in the ninth, but he walked two consecutive batters before two extra-base hits made it a 10-6 game.

After allowing a triple, Jack Mahan allowed a run-scoring triple on a chopper of the head of Danny Rosenbaum before Jack Benninghoff grounded out to shortstop to end the game.

With 16 games regular season games remaining, the Bullfrogs stand at 34-22 overall, 3.5 games behind the Kenosha Kingfish, and Green Bay trails Kenosha by three games with a 12-9 second half record.

Green Bay and La Crosse have split their season series 2-2 so far this season with four more games to play against each other.

Martinez will make his sixth start for the Bullfrogs. He comes into tonight's game with a 2.51 earned run average and a 2-2 record in 28 2/3 innings.

Brandon Lawson will take the mound for the Loggers tonight. In seven starts, the 6-foot-2 righthander has a 3-1 record and a 4.05 earned run average with a 48:13 strikeout to walk ratio. Lawson pitched against the Bullfrogs on July 1 and earned the win. He pitched seven innings and allowed an earned run on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts.

First pitch for Game 1 of the series will begin at 6:05 tonight. Following the two-game weekend series, the Bullfrogs will return to Joannes Stadium on July 27 for a six-game home stand.
