
Martin Joins Colts, Brings 11 Seasons of Big League Experience

San Angelo, Texas--- The San Angelo Colts have added another arm to the pitching staff that has Major League experience. Tom Martin, a left handed reliever, has pitched for the Astros, Indians, Mets, Rays, Dodgers, Braves, and Rockies Organization. Over the course off 11 seasons, Martin has amassed a 4.92 ERA in 376 innings, all at the big league level.
Martin began his career in the Baltimore Orioles Organization when he was selected in the sixth round of the 1988 amateur draft. The left hander expects to be activated on Saturday as the Colts travel to Rio Grande Valley for a four game series. Colts fans will have a chance to see Martin on the mound beginning with the following home stand against the Coastal Bend Thunder, on July 23rd-26th.
San Angelo sits atop the United League with a 24-10 record, holding a six game lead over second place Amarillo. Martin will add to an already dominant Colts pitching staff which leads the league with a 3.62 ERA.
San Angelo has three other Colts with big league experience. Ezequiel Astacio, Matt Duff, and Doc Edwards have all played at the big league level. Edwards has played and managed in the bigs.
