March 31, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
The Marshals News Release

Cincinnati, OH – The Cincinnati Marshals of the National Indoor Football League are gearing up to take on the River City Rage this Saturday, April 2, 2005 at 7:30pm at U.S. Bank Arena.

The Marshals will look to even their record at 1-1 after a disappointing loss in a close game vs the 1-1 Beaumont Drillers last weekend. Up 30-24 with just over two minutes remaining in the game, the Marshals had a first and goal situation from the Beaumont 3-yard line. The Driller defense kept them from scoring when defensive back Shawn Manning broke up a pass from quarter Brett Dietz, ending Cincinnati's hopes for a win in front of 6,754 fans at U.S. Bank Arena. Running back Rayshawn Askew rushed for 73 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns. Quarterback Brett Dietz threw for 128 yards on 12-of-23 attempts with one touchdown and one interception. Tobias Deans led the team with five catches for 59 yards and one touchdown.

The River City Rage earned their first win of the season when they squeaked by the Fayetteville Guard 46-43 last weekend after a 12-yard touchdown pass to Scott Pingel with 3:23 remaining in the game. They come to Cincinnati leading the Atlantic East Division with a 1-0 record.

The Midwest Bikini Team will be performing after each Marshals touchdown to help liven up the crowd!
