The Marshals News Release
Cincinnati, OH â Cincinnati Bengal kicker Shayne Graham and his charitable organization, Good For 3, have teamed up with the Cincinnati Marshals and Margarita's to help the FreestoreFoodbank's Kid's Cafe. For every Cincinnati Marshal field goal made during the inaugural 2005 season, Good For 3 will donate $100 to FreestoreFoodbank. The Cincinnati Marshals and Margarita's Mexican Restaurant will then team up to match each of Good For 3's donations.
Good For 3 is a program developed before the 2004 Bengal's Season by placekicker Shayne Graham. Shayne promised a donation of $200 for every field goal he made during the 2004 season. Shayne made a total of 27 field goals in 2004 and was happy to fulfill his promise and donate $5,400 for the cause. Shayne also hosted a dinner at the Cincinnatian Hotel for 36 kids in the Kid's Café Program. The Cincinnatian Hotel also played a vital role in the Good For 3 program.
"I am very grateful to have the opportunity for this program to last year round," said Graham. "The Kid's Café is a great program and I am very proud to be associated with them. It is my sincere pleasure to be a part of this program."
Kids Cafe is a program of America's Second Harvest and the FreestoreFoodbank currently serving nutritious meals and healthy snacks that are served to children at eight Kids Cafe sites in low-income neighborhoods of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Eight nonprofit member agencies of the FreestoreFoodbank operate Kids Cafe sites where children not only receive nutritious food, but also participate in educational and recreational activities in safe, nurturing environments. Higher academic achievement is one outcome of Kids Cafe where children not only receive more nutritious food than they would otherwise get, but also benefit from adult mentoring and receive assistance with school work. Kids Cafe feeds more than 2,000 children each year, some as often as four times a week.
