
Lakeland Entertains Xtreme Friday

LAKELAND, FL â The Lakeland ThunderBolts return to Ray Lewis Field in the Lakeland Center Friday when they take on the New Jersey Xtreme, a team which has given up 118 points to two Florida opponents in the last eight days.
Kick off is 7:05 p.m.
The ThunderBolts, led by quarterback Jeremy Martin, receivers William Andrews and Tavarius Johnson, sports a 1-1 record and is tied with two other teams for second place in their division.
Martin has been spectacular in passing for 372 yards and hitting eight touchdowns in the first two games. His .660 (33-50-2) completion percentage ranks him among the best signal callers in the league.
Andrews, a teammate of Martin's at Gardner-Webb University, has a team-high nine catches for 99 yards and one touchdown. Johnson has grabbed seven passes for 94 yards and three scores in two games. Martin also spreads the ball around to his other receivers including Raymond Hardy who had five catches for 70 yards and three touchdowns against Miami.
New Jersey (0-3) has lost to Daytona Beach (54-0) and Kissimmee (64-20) since arriving in Florida for a three-game series with the âI-4' National Indoor Football League connection. The Xtreme have been outscored, 162-38, in their three games.
Xtreme receiver Johnell White has had two good games, collecting seven passes for 87 yards and one score. New Jersey quarterback Jay Hawes will be at the controls against Lakeland. He was 11 of 22 with three TD passes against Kissimmee, but also had four of his balls intercepted.
After Friday's game, the ThunderBolts will host the Billings Outlaws on Saturday, April 9, at 7:05 p.m. on the Ray Lewis Field in the Lakeland Center before traveling to Daytona Beach on Monday, April 18, for a game against the division rival Hawgs.
