
Dayton Warbirds join NIFL

Lafayette, LA - At a press conference at the E.J. Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio this morning it was announced that the Dayton Warbirds have joined the NIFL. The Warbirds will play their first game at the Nutter Center this Saturday, April 2 against the Lincoln Capitols.
"This is exciting for the city of Dayton and the community," said Anthony J. Powonski, a member of the league's executive committee.
"We will be setting up an entire 14-game schedule for the Warbirds and will announce that shortly," he said. "We want to guarantee the loyal fans and sponsors that the Warbirds will meet their obligations to the community and its fans. They will play this season."
The new ownership has retained the services of Centurion Sports Management to oversee the marketing and operation of the franchise.
Dayton will compete in the Atlantic East division of the Atlantic Conference along with the New Jersey Xtreme, the River City (St.Louis) Rage, and the Cincinnati Marshals.
