Marshals Add Players During Bye Week

The Marshals may not have played this past weekend, but due to injuries and in an effort to improve their playoff chances this year the Marshals have signed five new players: Steve Clay, Tevin Hester, Joey Owens, DJ Sutton, Dave Rout and Matt Quinn.
D.J. Sutton is a 5'-8" 170lbs Defensive Back. D.J played football at Hamilton High School and in College at Boston College. D.J. Sutton has played professionally with the Louisville Fire and Cincinnati Swarm of the Arena 2 League and was a starter for the Cincinnati Marshals last season.
Dave Rout is a 6'-4" 225lb Safety. Dave played football at Princeton High School before moving on to Butler Community College where he was an All-American. Dave finished his college career at the University of Pittsburgh.
Steve Clay is a 5'-5" 180lb Wide Receiver and Kick Returner. Steve played High School football at Aiken High School. He then attended college at Eastern Michigan University. Steve was a 1st All MAC selection in 1994 and 1995. In 1993 he led the nation in Kickoff returns and in 1994 he led the nation in Punt Return yards.
Matt Quinn is a 6'-0" 225lb Linebacker. Matt went to Boyle High School where he was a 3 time Kentucky all-state selection. He is the All time leading rusher and Touchdown scorer at his High School. Matt attended Campbellsville University where he was a two time College All-American.
Joey Owens is a 6'-3" 220lb Safety. Joey went to Fairfield High School and led his High School in Interceptions his Senior Year when his named an Athletic and Academic All American. Joey then attended Anderson University in Indiana where as a Junior he led the team in tackles and as a Senior he was named Defensive Player of the Year in the Conference and to the All Conference Team after leading his team in tackles, interceptions and pass break ups. Joey was also second on the team in sacks. Joey was on the Marshals club last year, but a knee injury prior to the first regular season game prevented him from playing in any games.
Tevin Hester is a 6'0" 180lb Defensive Back. Tevin went to high school at Hillside High School in North Carolina and attended North Carolina Central State University in Durham North Carolina.
The Marshals play this weekend at Fayetteville, North Carolina, but then return home for a three game home stand starting on April 21, 2007 against Jacksonville. The homestand continues on April 28, 2007 against Fayetteville and concludes May 5, 2007 against Greensboro. All games begin at 7pm and tickets are still available.
