Toronto Marlies News Release
A proud member of the American Hockey League, the Toronto Marlies travel to West Hill to continue their series of community practices in an effort to connect with minor hockey teams throughout the GTA starting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9 at the Heron Park Arena. A number of minor hockey level players from the West Hill Golden Hawks will watch as coaches Greg Gilbert, Jim Hughes and Joe Paterson lead the Marlies through a legitimate pro hockey practice. With 15 minutes remaining in the session, one team will take to the ice and join the entire Marlies team in interactive and challenging drills aimed at helping young players improve their skills. Toronto Marlies Mascot, Duke the Dog will also be in attendance at the event.
The Marlies will leave the ice surface at 8:00 p.m., to participate in a team autograph signing session. This will be the fourth of five planned Marlies practices that will be held around the Toronto area this season. The Marlies will trek to the East York Memorial Arena on Monday, February 2 for their last community practice of the season.
The Marlies travel to Hamilton to take on their QEW-rival, the Bulldogs - AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens - at Copps Coliseum today at 5:00 p.m. The Marlies next home game is this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. when the Lake Erie Monsters - AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche - come to Ricoh Coliseum for their second time this season.
