Marlies Sign Goaltender Adam Munro To PTO Contract

Jeff Jackson, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that the club has signed goaltender Adam Munro to a professional try-out contract.

Munro, 26, appeared in 26 games for the Marlies during the 2008-09 season, compiling a record of 12-11-2 with a 2.42 goals against average and 0.913 save percentage. The St. George, Ontario native also started game six for the Marlies during the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs. He has appeared in 121 career AHL games with Norfolk, Syracuse and Toronto.

Munro was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round, 29th overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

The Marlies make their first road trip of the season this Friday night when they take on the Rochester Americans, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, at 7:05 p.m. at Blue Cross Arena. Toronto returns to Ricoh Coliseum on Saturday at 3 p.m. to play the Americans in the second half of their home-to-home matchup.
