Griffins Kick Off Home Schedule With Three Games In Three Nights

Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 vs. Abbotsford Heat Opening Night Celebration presented by Comcast

Time: 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Laser Light Show: Get here early for the extended pre-game festivities, featuring a laser light show.

Free Glow Mugs: The first 5,000 fans will receive a Griffins/Comcast Glow Mug to welcome the 2009-10 Griffins to the ice with a toast in the dark.

Dollar Beers, Dollar Dogs: The return of the ever-popular promotion runs from 6-8 p.m., when fans can enjoy $1 domestic drafts and $1 hot dogs while supplies last.

College Night: Presented by McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, college students can show their ID to purchase a lower bowl ticket for just $10 (regular price $17). Limit one ticket per ID per person. Students are also encouraged to stop by the McFadden's concourse table to receive a free pass to the post-game party at McFadden's.

Get in the D-ZONE: The Griffins and the "Free Beer and Hot Wings Show" at WGRD 97.9 have teamed up again this season to bring back the D-Zone. Seven-game ticket packages are available for $99 while a 14-game pack costs $189, and all D-Zone nights are on Dollar Beers, Dollar Dogs nights. Membership includes a D-Zone T-shirt, in-seat wait service, the chance to rub elbows with the "Free Beer and Hot Wings" crew at select games, plus much more. Click here for more information.

Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 vs. Toronto Marlies

Time: 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Laser Light Player Intros: Welcome the Griffins onto the ice with laser light player intros.

Team Poster: 2,500 fans will receive a free 2009-10 Griffins poster at the exits following the game.

Magnet Schedules: Free 2009-10 magnet schedules will be handed out to fans who enter through the main lobby of Van Andel Arena, while supplies last.

Griffins Blue Crew: The Griffins have teamed up with Lake Michigan Credit Union to bring fans the LMCU Blue Crew for select Saturday games. To learn more, click here .

Post-Game Autographs: TBD players will sign autographs following the game inside the Huntington Club.

Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 vs. Abbotsford Heat

Time: 5 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 4 p.m.).

Super Sunday: Fans can enjoy $1 Pepsi products and $1 Cole's Breadsticks from 4-6 p.m.

Player Card Strip: The first 1,000 kids ages 12 and younger will receive a Griffins player card strip, courtesy of Play N Trade Alpine.

Griffins Give Back: Hundreds of local unemployed workers and their family members will receive free tickets to this game, thanks to the new "Griffins Give Back" program. A minimum of 1,000 lower bowl tickets will be distributed through the two Grand Rapids offices of Michigan Works! (1560 Leonard NE and 622 Godfrey SW). Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. and continuing while supplies last, those who visit Michigan Works! in person and present both proof of unemployment and a valid Michigan photo I.D. can receive up to four free tickets to the game.

Fan 4-Pack: Fans can receive four tickets and $12 in concession cash for a great low price ($68 for lower bowl, $52 for upper bowl). Click here to order.

Library Night: Fans who present their Grand Rapids Public Library or Kent District Library Cards at the Van Andel Arena box office on the night of the game or at The Zone anytime during regular business hours (M-F 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Sat. 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.) can purchase a lower bowl ticket for just $10, a savings of $7. Limit four tickets per card per person.

Reading Goals: Children who've completed the required three hours of reading as part of the "Griff's Reading Goals" program can redeem their voucher at The Zone or at the Van Andel Arena box office for two free upper bowl tickets to this game. Subject to availability.

Single-game ticket prices are $5 (Sunday-Thursday games only, advance purchase at The Zone), $13, $15 and $17 in the arena's upper level, and $17, $20, $25 and $30 in the lower level.
