Marlies Recall Forward Tyler Doig From Reading

Jeff Jackson, General Manager of the Toronto Marlies, announced today that forward Tyler Doig has been recalled from their ECHL affiliate, the Reading Royals.

In 50 games this season with Reading, Doig's collected 43 points (11 goals, 32 assists) and 77 penalty minutes. Doig, 23, ranks first on the Royals in assists and second in points.

The Seaforth, Ontario native appeared in 24 games during the 2007-08 season with the Marlies and registered four goals and four assists. The 6'0, 180-pound forward also skated in one playoff game for Toronto in the 2008 Calder Cup playoffs.

The Marlies take on the Hamilton Bulldogs - AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens - tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. Toronto returns home on Sunday afternoon to host Grand Rapids at 4:00 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum. The first 5,000 fans attending the game will receive a Vesa Toskala bobblehead.
