(Windsor, ON) - Chris Marchese scored with just 20 seconds left in overtime, lifting the Spitfires to a dramatic 5-4 win over the Peterborough Petes Thursday night at the WFCU Centre.

Windsor (2-3-0-0) got a pair of goals from Marchese (3, 4) and Ryan Foss (1, 2) on the way to its second overtime win of the young season.

Marchese's first of the night opened the scoring, courtesy oF some fine work from Norwegian winger Markus Soberg, who found Marchese for his third of the season at 5:33 of the opening period.

After Christiano DiGiacinto put the Spits up 2-0 with his first goal, the Petes countered with three unanswered goals in a 4:09 span, quelling the crowd's enthusiasm.

In the second period, Alex Fotinos (26 saves) held down the fort with a remarkable stretch-save on a Petes breakaway, keeping the game within one, while rookie goalie Dylan Wells (39 saves) was up to the task on the other end, making several flashy glove stops.

The Spits eventually broke through courtesy of Ryan Foss, who jammed home his first of the season with 22 seconds left in the frame, tying the game at 3-3.

The teams exchanged goals in the third period (Eric Cornel at 1:54 and Foss at 3:30), sending the game to overtime, knotted at 4-4.

After a flurry of chances at both ends, Marchese took a silky Trevor Murphy feed in the slot, beating Wells high, sending a crowd of 4,656 into a frenzy and ending the game in dramatic fashion.

Murphy chipped in a pair of assists and had 10 shots, while Stephan Nosad had a pair of helpers for the Petes.

The Spitfires will try to keep their momentum going on Saturday night, as they visit the Sarnia Sting (1- 3-1-0) in their first road game of the season at the RBC Centre (7:05).
