Erie, Pennsylvania - The Manchester Monarchs, AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have reassigned over-age defenseman Kurtis MacDermid to the Erie Otters to play out his final season of junior hockey.
MacDermid was a free agent signing of the Los Angeles Kings in September of 2012. The Otters acquired the 6'4", 216 pound defender at this past trade deadline on January 9, 2014 from the Owen Sound Attack for four draft choices. He appeared in 28 regular season games with the Otters, scoring two goals and recording three points while leading the OHL in penalty minutes with 165. He also played in 12 playoff games and recorded three assists in the team's run to the Western Conference Final.
