BRADENTON, FL - The Bradenton Marauders, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, took the first of a three-game series with the Fort Myers Miracle Wednesday, 5-4, at McKechnie Field.

Tied at four in the eighth inning the Marauders put two runners on against reliever Matt Tone. Ramon Cabrera walked in front of an Evan Chambers single. Tone was removed from the game for Elevys Gonzalez, who came up with the game-winning RBI single to score Cabrera.

The Marauders had the night's first lead back in the first inning. Robbie Grossman and Adalberto Santos both singled to start the inning and scored on a Cabrera groundout and Chambers sacrifice fly. Bradenton led 2-0.

Fort Myers came back to tie the game with a two-run homerun from Josmil Pinto in the second. Bradenton got a homer of its own from Carlos Paulino in the fourth for a 3-2 advantage, but an Angel Morales homerun in the fifth put the Miracle ahead 4-3. One more homerun, this time from Santos, tied the game at four, setting the stage for the eighth inning win.

The win goes to Tyler Waldron, pitching in his first game with Bradenton since a promotion from Low-A. He tossed two shutout innings in relief of Nathan Baker, who allowed four runs over six innings. Duke Welker picked up his fourth save. Tone suffered the loss.

Bradenton hosts Fort Myers again Thursday at McKechnie Field. It's a 7pm first pitch with radio coverage beginning at 6:45 on 1280-AM WTMY. For ticketing information visit BradentonMarauders.com.
