Bradenton Marauders News Release

Jupiter, FL - The Marauders (27-16, 59-54) were beaten 4-2 by the Jupiter Hammerheads (18-27, 53-62) at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday night. It was the first home win for the Hammerheads over the Marauders in seven attempts this season.

Jupiter rallied to erase a 2-0 deficit in the seventh inning. After RHP Frank Duncan (L, 7-8) picked up his fifth strikeout to open the inning, Brian Anderson doubled off the wall. Anderson stayed put at second on a ground out to short, but then stole third and scored on a two-out single by Felix Munoz. James Roberts homered two pitches later to give Jupiter a 3-2 lead.

The Hammerheads added an unearned insurance run against RHP Dovydas Neverauskas in the eighth.

Neverauskas struck out two Jupiter batters.

Bradenton opened the scoring in the first inning thanks in large part to LF Jeff Roy's speed. Roy bunted for a single, stole second, and scored on a two-out hit from DH Jin-De Jhang. SS Chris Diaz doubled the lead with an RBI knock in the second inning.

The loss leaves Bradenton 2.5 games out of first place pending the completion of Palm Beach's rain delayed game at Charlotte Sports Park on Monday night.
