PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The Charlotte Stone Crabs are proud to announce their recipient for the 2015 Florida State League Scholarship: Joshua Grubbs. Josh, a junior at Rollins College was an intern with the Charlotte Stone Crabs during the 2015 season. From his first day Josh showed a work ethic and desire to learn that made him an excellent candidate for this award. The Florida State League Scholarship is not based solely on an applicant's time with their respective team but also their financial need and holding a grade point average of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Josh projects to graduate from Rollins College in May of 2017 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. He currently has a GPA of 3.5, proving that his hard work with the Stone Crabs was rooted in the classroom. Upon graduation, Josh hopes to continue to work in the sports industry. The Stone Crabs would like to wish Josh the best of luck in his endeavors and we look forward to what will come from such a promising young professional.

For the past 16 years, the Miami Marlins have sponsored the programs and have contributed a total of $160,500. Florida State League President Ken Carson stated, "I am very proud of all the hard work the teams do with all the teams participating and I congratulate all of the winners. I want to thank the Miami Marlins for their continued support for this great program. They are a great partner." The scholarship winners will be guests of the Miami Marlins in pre-game ceremonies on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 1:10 PM.
