
Marauders Fall to St. Lucie

Port St. Lucie, FL - The Bradenton Marauders (7-9) scored the first run of the game but never crossed home again in a 4- 1 loss to the St. Lucie Mets (10-6) on Friday night at Tradition Field. RHP Alex McRae (L, 0-1) suffered the loss while pitch- ing four innings.
SS Pablo Reyes led off the game with a double to left field and later scored on a ground out by 3B Connor Joe. The Maraud- ers put runners on in seven of the nine innings in the game, but could not score again. Twice Bradenton put men on third with one out, but in both innings Ricky Knapp (W, 3-0) induced double play grounders to escape the threat.
St. Lucie evened the score in the third on a two-out double to center field by Amed Rosario. Tomas Nido's RBI-single in the fourth put the Mets in front for good. Champ Stuart capped the scoring in the fourth with a two-run double.
Kevin McGowan pitched three scoreless innings to earn his second save. RHP Henry Hirsch and RHP Edgar Santana each tossed two scoreless innings for Bradenton.
C Taylor Gushue recorded a 3-for-4 game. 1B Jerrick Suiter had two hits for the Marauders.
