
Mantha Nets Three in RiverKings' Victory

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Devin Mantha notched four points, including a hat-trick as the Mississippi RiverKings (27-19-4) knocked off the Fayetteville FireAntz (17-26-5) for the second time in as many nights with a decisive 8-3 victory on Saturday night.
The RiverKings' offensive took off for four goals in the first 20 minutes. Leo Thomas got the game's first goal 7:03 into regulation from Mike Grace and Andrew Randazzo before Matt Harrington's shot beat Peter Skoggard over the shoulder five minutes later to put the RiverKings on top 2-0. Devin Mantha and Tyler Sheldrake scored within a minute of one another in the last five minutes to send the RiverKings to the locker room leading 4-0.
Fayetteville jumped on the board in the second for the period's lone goal. Nick Craven beat Matt Krahn with Kyle McNeil and Kevin Kessler assisting to cut the RiverKings' lead to 4-1.
In the third, the scoring opened up. Mantha kicked it off 2:55 into the period with his second goal from Todd Hosmer and Andrew Randazzo to put the RiverKings up 5-1 before Kyle McNeil brought the 'Antz within three once again 5:33 into the final frame. Mantha completed the hat-trick on a one-time slap-shot that beat Skoggard and put the RiverKings ahead 6-2. Burke Gallimore gave the RiverKings a five-goal lead 10:02 into the third from Ryan Marcuz and Mike Grace. The teams traded goals 19 seconds apart as McNeil tallied his second goal of the game before Todd Hosmer responded to give the RiverKings the 8-3 win.
Matt Krahn (14-10-3) stopped 33 of 36 shots against in the win. Peter Skoggard (11-16-4) stopped 25 of 32 shots against in the loss.
