Inland Empire 66ers News Release
San Bernardino, CA - Los Angeles Dodgers Outfielder Manny Ramirez is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with the Inland Empire 66ers, Class A Partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, on Saturday, July 10th, at 7:05 p.m. when they take on the Lancaster JetHawks.
Dodgers Manager Joe Torre confirmed the news on Thursday at Dodgers Stadium that Manny Ramirez would DH for Inland Empire on Saturday and would play in however many games he needs. Dodgers Catcher Brad Ausmus is also scheduled to continue his rehab assignment with the Inland Empire 66ers on Saturday .
Ramirez, 38, has been on the disabled list retroactive to June 30 with a right hamstring strain. This will be his second rehab stint with Inland Empire this season. He played in two games in early May while the team was in Lake Elsinore, coming off a right calf strain at the time.
During his two rehab starts with the 66ers this season, he went 1-for-4, with an RBI.
Ironically, Ramirez is scheduled to start on Saturday when the 66ers will give away Manny Ramirez action figures to the first 1,000 kids (12 and under).
