Mankato Dominates Bismarck to Complete Sweep with 11-2 Victory

BISMARCK, N.D. - The Mankato MoonDogs beat the Bismarck Larks Sunday night at Bismarck Municipal Stadium. The final score was 11-2 in favor of the MoonDogs, who completed a series sweep in their final meeting against the Larks.

With back-to-back victories, the MoonDogs are now 17-11 in the second-half standings with a 36-26 overall mark on the season. With the loss, Bismarck is now 21-43 on the season with a 10-20 second-half record.

Charles McAdoo (San Jose) had another phenomenal day at the plate going three-for-four at the plate with three runs and five RBI. Additionally, he added his fifth home run in four games. Kai Roberts (Utah) went three-for-five with two RBI.

After the Larks plated the game's first run in the second inning, the MoonDogs answered with a pair of their own in the third before running away with things by scoring in four of the final five frames. With the Larks scoring one final run in the eighth before the MoonDogs piled on three more in the ninth, the MoonDogs eventually prevailed by a final score of 11-2 to secure the series sweep and their second win in a row.

On the mound for the MoonDogs, TJ Martin (St. Scholastica) pitched six innings of one-run and four-hit baseball to improve to 2-1 on the summer. He walked a pair of batters and struck out five others along the way. In relief, Brevin Goetz (Gustavus) pitched three innings with three hits and a run against him while walking two and striking out one.

The MoonDogs return home for a date with the Rochester Honkers, Monday night at ISG Field. First pitch is slated for 6:35 p.m. in Mankato.
