Rockers Aim for Sweep over Rafters

Ashwaubenon, Wis. - The Green Bay Rockers square off against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters for the final time in the regular season Sunday, with first pitch set for 5:05 p.m. from Witter Field.

Green Bay will look for the sweep over Wisconsin Rapids after taking down the Rafters Saturday night 6-2 in eight innings due to inclement weather stopping the game from finishing.

Carson Yates led the way for the Green Bay offense, scoring three RBIs with one of his hits being a home run, as the Rockers led from the fifth inning on, scoring four unanswered runs to snag the road victory.

Clayton Slack and Jake Mastillo added the other RBIs for the Green Bay offense, while Matt Scannell scored two runs after reaching base two times on walks.

Earning the win on the mound was Eli Frank, who pitched two innings of scoreless relief, as he gave up just two hits with one walk and three strikeouts while Jacob Young earned the save after pitching one inning and striking out two batters.

For Sunday's game, the Rockers will start Will Semb who comes into this game with a 4-5 record and a 5.72 ERA as he has 58 strikeouts so far on the season in 50.1 innings pitched.

Semb last pitched in the MLD Showcase and pitched one inning in that game, striking out all three batters he faced in the frame.

The Rockers will head back home as they take on the Madison Mallards Monday, in the first of a five-game home stand at Capital Credit Union Park. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m.
