
Rockers Earn Road Sweep of Rafters

Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.- The Green Bay Rockers took down the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 10-6 Sunday night, earning the series sweep on the road and their third win in the last four games.
The Rockers improved to 16-13 in second half play on the season while the Rafters dropped to 23-8 in second half play as Green Bay now heads back to Capital Credit Union Park for a five-game home stand starting Monday.
Green Bay struck first on the road with a two-RBI double off the bat from Jake Mastillo, as he gave the Rockers an early 2-0 lead through the first inning of play.
The Rockers scored three more runs in the second as a wild pitch, an RBI groundout from Clayton Slack, and an RBI single from Tristin Garcia, made it 5-0 Green Bay after two innings at Witter Field.
Caden Capomaccio striked out all three batters he faced in the bottom of the third, as he kept it a 5-0 Rockers lead going into the fourth.
The Rafters scored four runs in the fourth inning, with three coming off a two-out three-RBI double, as Wisconsin Rapids cut the Green Bay lead to 5-4 entering the fifth.
Bryce Crabb pitched a scoreless fifth inning out of the bullpen to keep it a 5-4 game through six innings as the Rockers remained on top by one.
Green Bay scored five runs in the top of the sixth as several walks and RBIs from Garcia and Luke Ballweg extended the Green Bay lead to 10-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth.
Wisconsin Rapids answered back with two runs of their own to make it a 10-6 game, but Green Bay remained on top by four runs through six innings of play.
Luke Hoskins struck out the side in the seventh and pitched another scoreless inning in the eighth, to keep his team out in front 10-6 going into the ninth inning at Witter Field.
Ryan Culley pitched the bottom of the ninth inning and recorded the final three outs of the game, securing the win and the sweep for Green Bay, taking down the Rafters 10-6.
The Rockers head back home for a five-game home stand starting Monday, as they take on the Madison Mallards. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. from Capital Credit Union Park.
The pregame concert performed by Pat McCurdy will start at 5:35 p.m. with it also free hot dog Monday at the ballpark. This means hot dogs will be free for the first 90 minutes after gates open for all fans.
