DESALVO KEEPS STREAK ALIVE:

Dan DeSalvo scored a goal with just over three minutes remaining in Manitoba's final game to finish the regular season on an eight game point streak. During his point streak he has three goals and six assists for nine points. He became an impressive addition for the Moose as in his 17 games since joining the team he had 14 points (5G, 9A).

MOST VALUABLE PLAYER:

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck was named the FloForm Countertops Most Valuable Player for the Moose this season. Hellebuyck was sensational for the Moose setting new career highs in goals against average (2.49) and save percentage (.922).

TOP SCORER AWARD:

Brenden Kichton finished the regular season leading the Moose in points and earned the Ultimate Software Top Scorer Award for the team. Kichton recorded 41 points this season as he finished with a career high 11 goals and added 30 assists.

THE RUNNER-UP:

Chase De Leo was right on the heels of Kichton for the points lead finishing just one point behind the leader. De Leo was impressive in his rookie campaign for the Moose scoring 19 goals and 21 assists for 40 points. The native of La Mirada, California finished tied for 17th among all AHL rookies in scoring. De Leo was the recipient of the Recycle Everywhere Rookie of the Year Award for the Moose.

THREE STARS AWARD:

Goaltender Eric Comrie earned the Independent Jewllers Three Stars Award for his excellent play this season. At each home game, each Moose player would receive 15-points for being named the game's first star, 10-points for second and five for third. Comrie finished the regular season with the most star points with 90. The rookie netminder was particularly strong all season at home posting an 11-10-4 record with a 2.82 goals against average and .920 save percentage at the MTS Centre this season.

MOOSE WRAP-UP FIRST SEASON BACK IN MANITOBA

The Moose finished off their regular season schedule with a pair of games in the state of Texas against the Rampage and Stars this past weekend.

Friday, Apr. 15, 2016: Manitoba 5 vs. San Antonio 2

The Moose trailed by two goals as time ticked away in the second period, but then the team mounted a comeback. Scott Kosmachuk scored his 19th goal of the season followed by the first career pro goal from Jansen Harkins to tie the game. From there, it was the Jimmy Lodge show. The Moose rookie forward scored not only his first career AHL goal but his first three as part of a natural hat-trick to propel the Moose to victory. Connor Hellebuyck played his final game of the season and made 18 saves in the victory. With the win, the Moose swept the season series against the Rampage 4-0-0-0 and brought their record from February on to .500 with a 14-14-1-1 record.

Saturday, Apr. 16, 2016: Manitoba 1 vs. Texas 4

Playing their second game in as many nights against a well-rested playoff bound Stars team, the Moose ran out of gas. Trailing by three goals, Manitoba continued to do what they have done all season long and pushed hard right to the very end. Dan DeSalvo extended his point streak to eight games by scoring with a little over three minutes remaining to get the Moose within a pair of goals. Former Moose forward Greg Rallo added an empty net goal to secure the Stars win. Eric Comrie got the start in the final game of the season and was solid making 19 saves.

JIMMY LODGE

Jimmy Lodge got on the board with not only his first career AHL goal, but his first three career AHL goals as part of a natural hat-trick on Friday night against San Antonio. Lodge was rewarded for his hard work, as the rookie forward has shown great strides throughout the season including during a stint with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL that saw him record eight points in 13 games.
