Manitoba Moose News Release
Goals:
- Moose forward Nic Petan drove cut down the left-hand lane, attempted a pass out front which deflected off the Rampage defender and past Winnipeg native Calvin Pickard 4:04 into the game.
- Rampage forward Mikko Rantanen intercepted a Moose clearing pass and capitalized sniping a shot top corner with 52 seconds remaining in the first.
- Moose Forward Matt Halischuk took a John Albert drop pass and made no mistake with it, beating Pickard top shelf 2:34 into the second period.
- Moose forward Patrice Cormier batted a puck out of the air off a rebound while on the powerplay 9:56 into the third period.
- Moose forward Scott Kosmachuk potted his fourth goal of the season as the puck found his stick in front of the Rampage net at the 12 minute mark of the third.
- Moose forward Matt Fraser tipped Julian Melchiori's point shot behind the Rampage keeper at the 15:13 mark of the third.
Highlights/Notes:
- Five goals scored was a season high for the Moose. They previously hadn't scored more than three goals in any one game. Manitoba had three goals in the third period alone. The Moose now average 1.91 goals per game this season.
- Four goals is the largest margin of victory for the Moose this season. The previous high was three goals with a 3-0 shutout win over Charlotte on Nov. 7.
- Brenden Kichton, Matt Fraser, Nic Petan & Patrice Cormier each recorded two points on the night for the Moose. It was Fraser, Petan and Cormier's first multi-point games of the season and the third for Kichton.
- Brenden Kichton returned to the lineup after missing the last four games and recorded two assists. He is tied with JC Lipon and Chase De Leo for points on the Moose with 13
- The Moose went perfect on the powerplay going two-for-two. Two powerplay goals are the most for the Moose in one game this season.
- The Moose are now 4-1-0-1 at home in their last six games at MTS Centre.
- Adam Lowry made his Moose debut after being assigned by the Winnipeg Jets earlier in the day. He recorded an assist and four shots while adding a significant physical presence.
- Eric Comrie has gone 2-0-1 in his last three starts and has 1.95 goals against average and a .935 save percentage in that span.
Next Game is Thursday, Dec. 17 at the MTS Centre in a rematch against the San Antonio Rampage.
