Manitoba Moose News Release
Goals:
- While on a five-on-three powerplay, Admirals defenceman Trevor Murphy sends a cross-ice pass which is one-timed by Pontus Aberg who beats Eric Comrie at 9:45 in the first period.
- The Moose responded just 2:52 later after John Albert sends a backhand pass on a two-on-one to Josh Morrissey who gets his first of the season at 12:37.
- Austen Brassard works the puck out of the corner and sends it out front to Ryan Olsen who beats Milwaukee's Juuse Saros with a quick wrist shot 4:47 into the second period.
- Taylor Aronson takes a wrist shot which rebounds off Comrie's right pad right to Frederick Gaudreau who scores in the open net with just 11 seconds remaining in the second.
- Victor Bartley works a two-on-one pass to Adam Payerl who beats Comrie who had no chance while Milwaukee is down a man at 10:45 of the third period.
- Manitoba's Jay Harrison throws a shot on net which surprises Juuse Saros to tie the game with just 2:26 remaining in the third.
- After the team's played a scoreless five minute overtime period, Vinny Saponari was the lone scorer for either team in five rounds of the shootout to give Milwaukee the win.
Highlights/Notes:
- Josh Morrissey scored his first goal of the season. It was also his first career AHL regular season goal. He scored two goals for St. John's during the 2014 Calder Cup Playoffs.
- Joel Armia earned his first point in his second game since returning to the Moose lineup. He was re-assigned by the Winnipeg Jets on Dec. 12.
- The Moose now have a 3-0-0-1 record against the Admirals this season. Each game in the season series has been determined by one goal. Today's game was the first game that didn't result in a 3-2 Moose win.
- Manitoba is now 3-1-0-1 in their last five home games at the MTS Centre.
- This was the first time the Moose have lost a shootout at home this year and only their second shootout loss this season.
Next Moose game is this coming Wednesday, Dec. 16 when the Moose play the first of a two game series against the San Antonio Rampage.
