ON THE SCORESHEET
- William Nylander added a goal and an assist to his league leading point total of 33.
- Matt Frattin scored his second goal in as many games, it was his sixth goal of the season.
- Eric Faille scored his first goal of the season, skating in his first game with the Marlies. He was the only Marlie to finish the evening with a plus rating. Faille was recalled from Orlando (ECHL) where he has recorded 22 points in 22 games.
- Brett Findlay assisted on the Faille goal, his first point of the year. He has skated in 14 games for Orlando (ECHL) where he has recorded 15 points.
- Mark Arcobello scored a power play marker for the Marlies his ninth of the year. He also directed a game high six shots towards the Utica net.
- Richard Panik collected an assist on the Nylander goal, pushing his point total to 22 through 24 games, he is 16th in AHL scoring.
- Josh Leivo collected an assist on the Frattin power play goal. It was his 23rd point in 24 games and he is currently ninth in AHL scoring.
NOTABLES
- The Marlies have now collected points in six straight games.
- TJ Brennan skated in his 400th AHL game while Brendan Leipsic was skating in his 100th.
- This was the first Marlie loss when scoring four or more goals, previously 12-0-0-0.
- The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that Marlie forward Kasperi Kapanen will participate in the World Junior Hockey Championship.
- Toronto remains first in the North Division and second in the Eastern Conference.
