Goals:
- During a scramble out front Wild forward Brett Bulmer scores on a rebound past Connor Hellebuyck at 11:11 of the first period.
- Zac Dalpe takes a wrist shot from the face-off dot in the offensive zone that gets past Connor Hellebuyck at 5:08 of the second period.
- Patrice Cormier parks himself in front and on a scramble in front he puts the puck past Leland Irving at 11:17 of the second period.
- Chase De Leo catches Irving off guard with a quick shot from the left side that goes in the net at 1:34 of the third period.
- Zac Dalpe steals the puck from the Moose forward and takes it the other scoring top shelf past Hellebuyck with just 1:52 to play in the third period.
Highlights/Notes:
- The loss snaps the four game win streak of the Moose and also ends their streak of six straight games earning at least one point. In their last nine games the Moose have a record of 5-2-1-1.
- Patrice Cormier scored his 10th goal of the season. He is the sixth Moose player to hit double digits in goals this season.
- The line of John Albert - Patrice Cormier - Matt Halischuk have spent the majority of this month playing together. During February they have combined for 11 goals, 15 assists and for 26 points in 10 games.
- Chase De Leo scored his team leading 15th goal of the season. He is one of just 14 rookies in the AHL with 15 goals on the season. He currently sits 15th in AHL rookie scoring.
- Matt Halischuk found the scoresheet yet again with two assists. He has four multi-point games in his last five contests. In his last eight games, Halischuk has two goals and eight assists for 10 points.
- Nic Petan extended his point streak to three games with an assist. In 10 games this month he has five goals and four assists for nine points.
- Rookie defenceman Josh Morrissey recorded an assist for the second straight game. He has six assists in his last five games.
- Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck lost his first game since returning from the Winnipeg Jets on Feb. 12. He made 30 saves in the loss.
- The Moose continued their excellent work on the penalty kill going a perfect three-for-three in the game. They are currently on a stretch of successfully killing off 28 of their last 29 penalties good for a 96.6% rate over their last seven games.
- The Moose now have a 1-1-1-0 record against the Wild this season. The two teams will play five more times before the end of the regular season.
- The Moose are now 3-1-0-0 on this current five game road trip. They have one road game remaining against Iowa before returning home.
The Moose will play their final game of the five game road trip when they play the rematch against the Iowa Wild on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. CT.
