Pirates Recall Hodges from Manchester

Portland, ME - Portland Pirates General Manager Eric Joyce today announced the recall of forward Steven Hodges from the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL.

Hodges, a 6-foot, 187 pound center from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, was recently cleared to play after off-season surgery. The 21 year-old joined the Monarchs on February 12 after being reassigned from Portland. He played five games with Manchester, scoring a goal and adding two assists for three points. He also had a plus-2 rating.

Selected by Florida in the Third Round (84th Overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Hodges played five seasons of major junior hockey in the WHL with the Chilliwack Bruins and Victoria Royals.

Hodges will be available to take the ice for the Pirates tomorrow night when they face the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center.

The Pirates finish off their seven-game road trip tomorrow night at the XL Center in Hartford against the Wolf Pack.
