MANCHESTER, N.H. - Charles Williams made 19 saves, but it wasn't enough as the Monarchs fell to the Worcester Railers, 2-0, Saturday night at SNHU Arena.

The Monarchs (2-2-0-1) outshot the Railers (2-0-0-0) 28-to-21, but dropped their second-consecutive meeting between their new North Division rivals.

After two scoreless periods, the Railers broke the ice when Mike Cornell netted his 1st goal of the season at 5:27 of the third period. After receiving a pass from Kellen Jones, Cornell blasted a shot from the right point past Monarchs goaltender, Charles Williams, to give the Railers a 1-0 lead.

The put heavy pressure on Worcester for the remained of the third period, but the Railers solidified their win when Ashton Rome scored an empty-net-goal, his 2nd tally of the season, at 19:01 of the third period, to put the Railers on top, 2-0.

The Monarchs return to action on Friday, Oct. 27 (7 p.m.) when they host the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at SNHU Arena.
