Kasimir Kakisuo was tested often in the first period, but did an excellent job foiling the likes of Allen's Spencer Asuchak and Vincent Arseneau, who consistently attempted to crowd the Orlando crease. Kristian Pospisil continued his strong play to start the seasonwith a second-period goal that got Orlando on the board at 8:15 after Allen had opened up a 2-0 lead on the Solar Bears. J.J. Piccinich set up Pospisil above the left circle, and the Slovakian rookie blasted a shot that beat Riley Gill at the left post. The Americans Aleksandr Mikulovich buried a shot through traffic at 8:51 of the third period, with Piccinich earning another assist on the goal.
