
Mallards Fall to Walleye 3-0

TOLEDO, Ohio (October 21, 2017) - Pat Nagle made 23 saves and the host Toledo Walleye (2-1-0) scored three times in the first period on the way to shutting out the Quad City Mallards (1-3-0) 3-0 Saturday night.
Kevin Tansey scored the first goal from the high slot 91 seconds into the game. The Walleye were on the power play when Simon Denis pounced on a rebound at 17:45 of the opening period. A.J. Jenks completed Toledo's first period outburst by finishing off a shorthanded 3-on-2 with just 2.2 seconds left on the clock.
Nagle was at his busiest while stopping 11 second period shots on a night that featured a pair of strong goaltending performances. Mallard netminder Ivan Kulbakov made 37 saves.
The Mallards next play on home ice next Friday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Idaho Steelheads. Next Friday's game also brings the return of $2 Dog/$2 Beer Night presented by 97X. Fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs and beers from iWireless Center concession stands during every Friday Mallards home game. In addition, the Mallards have once again this season partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.
Tickets for next Friday's contest and all Mallards regular season home games are now on sale at the TaxSlayer Center box office, Ticketmaster toll free charge-by-phone (1-800-745-3000) and ticketmaster.com. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
