Manager Diego Alonso: "It Is a Great Opportunity for Other Players to Show Their Worth”

Wednesday's visit to Red Bull Arena will provide a great opportunity for many players to shine and demonstrate what they bring to the team, as the Club will be missing several players that have featured regularly throughout the season due to injury, suspension and national team call-up. Goalkeeper and captain Luis Robles, defenders Andrés Reyes and Leandro González Pirez, midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro and forward Juan Agudelo will be unavailable.

"Unfortunately we aren't able to have the full squad at a time in which we started to see some positive things from the team. But on the other hand, it is a great opportunity for other players to show their worth, to help the team and show that they are capable of being there and help when necessary," said manager Diego Alonso.

"I trust the group of players that we have. In the case of the guys that will be getting the opportunity to play, we must support them so they are able to show why we have trusted them and why they are capable of being here as part of the team. We would like to have all our players, but we have the peace of mind of knowing that we have a group of players with a lot of energy, with a great commitment and with a great desire to get ahead".

Meanwhile, versatile footballer A.J. DeLaGarza, who made his Inter Miami debut in the team's last match following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury, embodies the attitude of the group - being ready for whenever the time comes to step onto the pitch to defend the Inter Miami colors.

"If I'm called upon, I'll be ready. That's been my motto this whole year, to always be prepared because you never know what can happen in this league," stated the veteran. "Now you see we have a couple guys out and we've had a couple suspensions, so guys are going to have to step up and guys are going to be needed. Now is the time for me to show what I'm capable of, how I'm capable of playing and try to lead this team on the defensive side of the ball."
