B.C. Lions News Release

(Vancouver) The Canadian Football League announced today that BC Lions running back Martell Mallett and linebacker JoJuan Armour are the Gibson's Finest Players of the Week in the offensive and defensive categories for Week 10.

Mallett was a unanimous decision for the panel as the rookie running back rumbled for a club-record 213 yards on 21 carries in the Lions' convincing 19-12 victory over the Montreal Alouettes. Mallett also picked up another 14 yards through the air and added a TD.

Armour enjoyed one of his most dominating performances since returning to the Lions in August, recording seven defensive tackles and two sacks and playing a major role in keeping the Montreal offence out of the end zone for the first time this season.

Gibson's Finest Player of the Week awards are selected by a panel of judges - former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

The BC Lions travel to Montreal to take on the East Division-leading Alouettes on Sunday, September 13th at 1:00 pm (ET). Catch the pre-game show on the TEAM 1040 beginning at 9:00 am. The next BC Lions home game is on Saturday, September 19th versus the Toronto Argonauts at 7:00 pm presented by RONA.
