Toronto Argonauts News Release

Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts would like to congratulate SB/KR Andre Durie for earning CFL Special Teams Player of the Week for the first time in his career. The previous week, Durie earned runner-up honours for the same award.

The former York University standout put up 189 kickoff return yards on just six returns, which is the fourth-best single-game output by an individual in team history (behind Dominique Dorsey, 225, Raghib Ismail, 224, and Terry Greer, 214). He exploded for an 82 yard kickoff return in the third quarter which setup a 15-yard Justin Medlock field goal. He also contributed on offence with a 16-yard reception.

The previous week, versus Calgary, he earned runner-up CFL Special Teams Player of the Week for returning 6 kickoffs for an impressive 149 yards, LG 35, tipped a punt and forced a fumble while on punt return coverage.

Fans can see Durie and the rest of his teammates live at Rogers Centre as the Argos celebrate Retro Night this Friday against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats; kickoff is 7:00 p.m.
