QUACK TRACKS

Good to See You

The Mallards won back-to-back games against Bloomington last week. The Flock downed the Blaze 5-3 last Tuesday and 7-3 last Friday before being blanked 4-0 in Fort Wayne last Saturday. Four of the Mallards' five wins this season have come at the expense of the Blaze.

Home and Away The Mallards won back-to-back home games last week after dropping their prior two home tilts. Last Saturday's setback at Fort Wayne was the Mallards' third straight road loss

All or Nothing The Mallards last Saturday evening were shut out for the first time this season one night after setting a team season high for goals in the 7-3 win over Bloomington.

Lead the Way

Brandon Marino (6-9-15) leads the Mallards in points and assists. Marino is tied with Jared Brown (6-6-12) for the team lead in goals and is tied with Brown for ninth in the league in goal scoring. Tyler Sheldrake ranks third in the CHL in penalty minutes (47).

Top Trio

Linemates Marino, Sean Flanagan (4-4-8) and Justin Chwedoruk (4-6-10) combined for ten points last Friday night against Bloomington. Flanagan- who had totaled four points for the season before last Friday's game- scored twice and picked up two assists while Marino and Chwedoruk added a goal and two assists apiece. Chwedoruk has scored two goals and notched three assists in three games since returning from a three-game concussion-induced absence. Marino's three-point effort last Friday came one game after he scored the Mallards' first shorthanded goal of the season last Tuesday against the Blaze.

Brown-Out

Brown saw his five-game point-scoring streak (4-4-8) halted last Saturday in Fort Wayne after picking up two points in each of the Mallards' two wins over Bloomington last week.

Outburst

Brown last Tuesday against the Blaze triggered an onslaught that produced the Mallards' fastest two goals and fastest three goals of the season. Brown kick-started the explosion by scoring at 17:46 of the second period. Chwedoruk scored just 18 seconds later and a goal from Flanagan followed 30 seconds after that to make it three in 48 seconds. That outburst turned a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 Mallard lead.

Between the Pipes

Rookie goaltender Brad Fogal made 32 saves last Tuesday and stopped 31 shots last Friday on the way to the first back-to-back wins of his professional career.

Shooting Gallery

The Mallards remain the league leaders in shots on goal (38.4 per game) and have outshot the opposition in eight of their first 11 games.

Conference Call

The Mallards have gone 2-1-0 in the first three games of a stretch that will see the Flock play six straight against the Turner Conference.

Firsts

Jeremy Boyer scored his first professional goal and picked up his first career assist last Friday against Bloomington. Sheldrake scored his first goal as a Mallard in the same game.
