Madison Mallards News Release

Green Bay, Wis. - Behind clutch hitting and lock-down relief work, the Madison Mallards took the second game of a two-game series from the Green Bay Bullfrogs 5-3. In a seesaw battle, the Bullfrogs tied it up 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning. But single runs in the eighth and ninth decided things in favor of the Mallards. After tonight's victory, Madison evened their record on the year at 2-2 and the Bullfrogs fell to 1-3. The win was number 200 of Field Manager Donnie Scott's six-year tenure with the Mallards.

Turning Point

The Mallards took the lead for good in the seventh after a lead-off single by David Vinsky (Northwood), two wild pitches, and an RBI single over a drawn-in infield by Drew Ober (UNC Charlotte). The Mallards added an insurance tally in the ninth after a lead-off double by Garrett Kueber (Austin Peay) and an RBI hot-shot grounder by Jake Randa (Northwest Florida State).  Trace Norkus pitched a scoreless ninth to get the save.
