Huskies Rebound in Eau Claire to End Road Trip on High Note

June 2, 2018 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Duluth Huskies News Release

There's a reason you get to play baseball every day and after a tough day in Bismarck on Friday, the Duluth Huskies returned to winning ways on Saturday in Eau Claire. The Huskies got off to a quick start after Augie Isaacson scored on a wild pitch to give Duluth the 1-0 lead in the first inning. Isaacson would later add a pair of RBIs to his line to help propel Duluth to a 3-0 lead. John Lagattuta made a strong debut on Saturday as he drove in a run and collected his first hit as a Husky to extended the Duluth lead to 5-0. Andrew Stout started the game and was untouchable for most his outing as he did not allow his first hit until the sixth inning. After the rain and lightning caught up to the Huskies again in the bottom of the sixth inning, Stout's great night ended as Levi Shandrew came in for relief and took Duluth to the finish line to earn the save and hold down a 5-3 win for the Huskies.

Andrew Stout takes the top headline from Saturday's game in Eau Claire as he delivered a much-needed strong start on the mound. Stout finished the game with 6 strikeouts, on just 2 hits, and gave up only two runs. The offense provided enough run support for Stout as he picks up his first win of the season as the Huskies improve to 2-3 and finish their opening 5-game road trip with some momentum. The 2018 Duluth Huskies will make their Wade Stadium debut Sunday afternoon as they welcome in Eau Claire at 3:05 to conclude their home-and-home series against the Express.
